Château des Antonins, Bordeaux Superieur, 2020

from £81.00

This is undoubtedly my find of 2025, a brilliant claret, right in its drinking window that costs just £13 a bottle! I tasted this wine in September and was bowled over by its lovey, mature nose giving notes of cedar, graphite, damson, cassis and wild mint. On the palate this is wonderfully textured, with ripe, filigree tannins that melt away with the fruit and superb acidity.

2020 was a great year in Bordeaux and Château des Antonins have made a wonderful wine which you’ll want to order again and again until stocks last.

Château des Antonins derives its name from the Antonine monks who lived there for centuries, with some of the original 13th-century buildings still standing on the estate. The current owners, the de Roquefeuil family, took over in 1985 and have since transitioned the estate to sustainable practices.

This wine comes in cases of twelve bottles at £13 a bottle, but can be ordered in cases of 6 bottles for £13.50.
