Chateau Chauvin is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe owned by Sylvie Cazes of the Lynch-Bages family, quietly producing wines of real precision, charm and increasing critical acclaim - yet notably underpriced for the quality in the glass. A neighbour of Cheval Blanc, Chauvin recently redesigned its label, which previously bore a striking resemblance to that of the First Growth next door.
From one of the very best vintages in Bordeaux’s history, this is utterly sumptuous Right Bank claret, drinking beautifully today, but still with plenty of time to evolve firther.
