On Thursday 16 April we will be hosting a special dinner with C.V.N.E., perhaps the most historic winemakers in Spain, in the private dining room upstairs at The Parakeet in Kentish Town, London, one of the very best gastropubs in all London, with a specially crafted menu to compliment the ten remarkable wines we’ll try throughout the evening.

Founded in 1879, Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España or CVNE is known for making truly exceptional wines that stand the test of time. From their holdings in Alto Penedés where they make the best Cava around, to Galicia for their Godello and to their heartland of Rioja where they make their famous white, red and sweet Gran Reserva wines, CVNE are the Gold Standard in Spanish winemaking.

Across a remarkable evening we’ll try ten different wines from their cellars, including a special line-up of their world famous Imperial Gran Reserva, with five vintages going back to 1988, served side-by-side.

One of the most sought-after reservations on the London foodie scene since its takeover and renovation in late 2023, The Parakeet in Kentish Town has been recognised by the Michelin Guide for its outstanding food. In their upstairs room we’ll enjoy a special menu crafted for these magical wines.

The menu is as follows in four courses:

  • Potato bread, smoked butter | Gordal olives | Hoisin duck tartlet

  • Radish and pear carpaccio | Gurnard, Singaporean black pepper sauce | Braised leeks, pecorino sauce, smoked mushrooms

  • Sirloin | Dressed salad | Pink Firs potatoes | Flourish Farm kale | Piperade

  • Chocolate mousse

This will be an outstanding evening enjoying some of the very best wines and vintages from the best producer in Spain with exceptional food in a wonderful space. Places for the dinner are limited to twenty-two seats and we expect significant demand. Tickets are £190 per head for the entire evening, a fraction of the price of other wine dinners in London.
