We’re delighted that on Thursday 8 October we will host a special dinner with Sylvie Cazes from Château Chauvin in St Emilion, in the private dining room upstairs at The Parakeet in Kentish Town, London, one of the very best gastropubs in all London, with a sumptuous crafted menu to compliment the six wines we’ll try throughout the evening.
From one of the most historic families in Bordeaux and part owner of Château Lynch Bages, Sylvie has taken on Château Chauvin in Saint Emilion, developing it to produce gorgeous Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé wine that doesn’t break the bank, right next to its famous neighbour, Château Cheval Blanc (which is nearly 10x as much!).
In tandem with winemaker Jérémie Gravier, Chauvin are making superb second and third wines, as well as a unique Bordeaux blanc made from red grapes which is utterly exquisite.
Following a brilliant clos dinner at the Parakeet in April, we’re delighted to return to enjoy their outstanding food, featuring mains of bone in ribeyes and whole sea breams across four courses, each paired with different wines and vintages from this hidden gem of an estate.
One of the most sought-after reservations on the London foodie scene since its takeover and renovation in late 2023, The Parakeet in Kentish Town has been recognised by the Michelin Guide for its outstanding food.
Guests will enjoy the following wines throughout the evening:
Château Chauvin, Blanc de Noir 2025 (a complete one off in Bordeaux!)
Brin de Folie 2018
Folie de Chauvin 2023
Château Chauvin 2018
Château Chauvin 2015
...plus a further vintage of the Grand Vin, kept back as a surprise for the evening.
The menu is as follows in four courses (all dietary and allergen requirements will be catered for by the excellent kitchen team):
Potato bread, smoked butter | Gordal olives | Hoisin duck tartlet
Radish and pear carpaccio | Gurnard, Singaporean black pepper sauce | Braised leeks, pecorino sauce, smoked mushrooms
